Evaluation

Evaluation

So far I think my game is going okay. There are still some final corrections I need to make but, I am happy with what I've produced. I think I could improve my game by adding more collecting sprites. Also I need to fix my live because at the moment all the lives are lost by one touch of the bat. I would also like someone else to test my game so I could have their opinion on how they think my game is.
I fond this project fun and challenging at the same time. I want to try and make my blog more detailed about how I made the game and the problems or good points I've had throughout. I really like the theme of my game and how it works. The things I would improve I would fix the life variable, make more sprites and give them different variables.

Testing.

GAME TESTING STRATEGY & PLAN
I will test my game to make sure it works while I create it. I will also test it after I have finished coding to make sure it works fully as planned. I shall do the testing myself but I shall also ask Sophie
to test certain parts of it. I shall be a test buddy for Sophie.
Here are the tests:-
Test 1:  The game must have clear instructions for the user.
I need to put in clearer instructions for my game. This is one of the improvements.

Test 2: The game must be error-free.
My game is not error free yet but I need to fix the problems. I need to be able to stop the game when it is finished.
Test 3: The game must have the meaningful variables of 'Score' and 'Lives'.
My Lives go down when the bag is touched by the bag, however you earn points by collecting candy sprites. I need to fix one problem with my Lives variable.
Test 4: The game must be documented well in my blog so that I can come back to it at a later date to make alterations to it if needed.
I am currently editing my blog to put more detail into my answers.
Test 5: Each collecting sprite needs to have 3 states:- normal, bulging, slim and named appropriately.
My sprite doesn't bulge but the characters arms move around.
My sprite has two costumes but one of the costumes has the ghosts arms up and the other costume has the arms down. While playing the ghost moves.
Test 6: The program has to keep a score of all the collected sprites.
Each time a candy is collected the score goes up by one. I would like to make more of these sprites and make them so that each is worth different points.
Test 7: Each candy sprite collected should increase the the variable 'Score' by one.
Like I said above each time a candy is collected the Score variable goes up by one.
Test 8: When the bat sprite is in contact with the bag sprite the 'Lives' variable should o down by one.
When the bag comes in contact with the bat the score goes down but I need to fix a slight issue I'm having. At the moment the Lives all go down when the bag and the bat touch.
Test 9: The costume for the bag should change.
Every one second the arms of the ghost go either up or down.
Test 10: When 'Lives' equal zero, "You died. Try again?" should come up in a speech bubble.
This does happen but I need to fix the small problem with the amount of lives that go down each time.

Scratch Game Update

For the past week, we've been animating our games to make them well, games! As you can see, on mine I have included a bag which you can move with the up, down, right and left arrows to try and collect the falling candy. I also included two variables; Score and Lives. Each time you catch a candy you earn a point which is added onto the score. The way to lose a life here is if you touch the flying bat. I haven't gotten to make this happen but I am planning it. Also to improve my game I'm going to include a couple more sprites. Each sprite should be a candy so that different candies have different amounts of points.
