Personal Internet Safety.
I think we all know very well that although the internet can be one of the best things ever, it can also be dangerous. Many people make friends over the internet, however not all of these people are what they seem.
The program 'Catfish' shows us that meeting someone through a computer is not the smartest idea. There are many things that could go wrong. Your computer and personal information could be hacked or, you could meet someone who actually has no interests in common with you.
But, to prevent things like these happening you can follow a few things to keep your information personal.
- Don't share personal information with people you don't know.
- Don't add anyone you don't know.
- Don't believe everything you see.
- Be aware of people who seem suspicious.
- Never give away any sort of information of your whereabouts.
Keeping personal information private on the internet is key to keeping safe. If you are asked by someone you don't know to do something that you don't like or feel is uncomfortable, report the person on an internet abuse page.
This is a very good summary of the topic under discussion with your use of words - well done! Try to explain in more depth, the consequences of false personalities that appear online. Good guidelines given - always include the source of information, whether text, images, video or sound.
