Game Costumes And Backgrounds.

Today we worked with Scratch to make backgrounds and costumes as well as scripts. This is the first part to making a game, I decided for my game to use a Halloween theme. To create a background you must, go to the stage and either choose or make your own one. You can make one and edit it yourself. Then I made five costumes. One of them was the bag which will later be used to catch the four other costumes, also known as the candies. It is important to name all of your costumes so that you can differentiate them from one another. Next time we will be starting to do the animations.

Scratch

Today we worked with the program Scratch.
Using loops on Scratch can be very useful. There are many different types of loops you could use. You could make temporary loops or forever loops. The difference between the two is that, Temporary loops will only last for a certain or chosen amount of time. For example, in Scratch I used a repeat 10 times loop so it only went up to 10. However, if I was to use a forever loop, the cycle would go over and over again until I stopped it. In this session with Scratch, I used the 10 times loop to make my bat character count up to 10. The second picture is the same type of loop but in a more simple but longer way.

Stalkers and things are what you might get, if you don't keep yourself safe on the internet!

Personal Internet Safety!

Personal Internet Safety.

I think we all know very well that although the internet can be one of the best things ever, it can also be dangerous. Many people make friends over the internet, however not all of these people are what they seem.

The program 'Catfish' shows us that meeting someone through a computer is not the smartest idea. There are many things that could go wrong. Your computer and personal information could be hacked or, you could meet someone who actually has no interests in common with you.

But, to prevent things like these happening you can follow a few things to keep your information personal.

  • Don't share personal information with people you don't know.
  • Don't add anyone you don't know.
  • Don't believe everything you see.
  • Be aware of people who seem suspicious.
  • Never give away any sort of information of your whereabouts.
Keeping personal information private on the internet is key to keeping safe. If you are asked by someone you don't know to do something that you don't like or feel is uncomfortable, report the person on an internet abuse page.
